RaceFit team strengthens with the addition of Matthew Leversedge!

The RaceFit team is pleased to announce New Zealand Sprintcar driver Matthew Leversedge as one of the RaceFit athletes for the 2019/20 season. Matthew runs the 78c Stanton Allpro powered Sprintcar which is contracted to Ruapuna Speedway in Christchurch, but is also planning a full campaign up in Western Springs, in Auckland.
Matthew is coming of an all-time best season that included a Western Springs feature win, South Island Sprintcar title and his first defence of his NZ CTRA Sprintcar title crown. While Matthew aims to win every meeting, his goals for the upcoming season include a podium finish at the New Zealand Title, the defence of his NZ CTRA and South Island Sprintcar titles and more feature wins around the country. Here’s Matthew’s comments leading up to this years speedway season:
“Me and the team are relatively happy with how last season went and we are looking forward to the challenges the 2019/20 season. We’ve made a few changes to the car and we’ve had the engine refreshed, so its gearing up to be a ripper. We’ve contracted to our home track in Christchurch, but we have an open release to run where we choose, so we will run a full season at Western Springs and do the South Island ones when we can. The top guys are at Western Springs, and we want to beat the best so that’s where we have to be. We've put in the work in the off-season and I’m feeling confident”
Matthew prides himself as one the hardest worker on the grid when it comes to his fitness. He has been on using our premium subscription and working closely with one of our personal trainers for the last few months. Here’s his thoughts:
“The sport of Speedway has progressed significantly in the last 5 or so years. Not only can you see the change of engineering in the cars, but the drivers also. The days of the fizzy drink and hot dog speedway racer are over. I’ve been working hard on my fitness and nutrition for quite few years now and I think working with my trainer from RaceFit has help me achieve a new level. I’m excited to see what we will achieve”
